Seoul Travel: Imokase at Gwangjang Market Seafood

“Imokase” is a play on words, a concept of Korean culture. “Imo 이모” means auntie, and calling a female worker auntie is a polite way to show endearment. “Omokase” is a Japanese word that basically means getting the chef’s special at a sushi restaurant. Imokase means that you are in a Korean establishment, don’t order off the menu and instead, leave it up to the auntie to give you the food she selects. Usually it’s seasonal seafood like in an Omokase! Korea‘s Korail Tourist Trains: Jeongseon Arirang A-Train Tour Guide Travel 관광열차 정선 아리랑 A트레인

‼️Introducing: Korail’s Tourist Trains 🚂 Korea has the best public transportation system. You may be familiar with the KTX/ITX trains, but did you know that we also have tourism trains? There aren’t many English posts about these trains, but I highly recommend you try them if you are in the areas they operate!! Here are some tourist trains that are different and unique: ⭐️ Arirang Train (A-Train) ⭐️ South Coast Train ( S-Train) ⭐️ West Gold Train (G-Train) ⭐️ Valley Train (V-Train) ⭐️ East Sea & Santa Village Train ⭐️ Sea Train (Gangneung) ⭐️ Rail Cruise Haerang The Arirang Train (A-Train) runs from Cheongnyangni Station in Seoul to Jeongseon Station in Gangwon-do. Jeongseon is the cleanest region environmentally of the whole country. “Jeongseon Arirang” is a traditional Korean folk song which has inspired the tourist train to express Korean culture and history. It is an unofficial anthem of Korea! The train has four themed cars with large windows and glass walls; sky room, tea room, and two of the cars are decorated in regional colors of red, yellow, blue and purple representing Jeongseon’s geographical features such as the Dong River (cleanest in the country) and the mountain ridges. The train’s exterior includes a purple color for the pulsatilla, Jeongseon’s official flower, and is decorated with curves that symbolize the Arirang melody (Wikipedia). Towards the last few stops arriving at Jeongseon, a tourism company aboarded which made traveling to this destination so much easier! They had two tour packages at ₩10,000/person. We chose the tour that included: ➡️ Jeongseon Arirang 5- Day Market (only runs in the 2nd, 7th, 12th, 17th, 22nd, and 27th of the month) ➡️ Ari Arari Musical (10/10!!!) ➡️ Gariwangsan Cable Car (2018 Pyeongchang Winter Olympics’ Alpine Stadium) Other top destinations to visit in Jeongseon: 🌟 Ari Hills Byeongbanchi Sky Walk 🌟 Byeongbanchi Zipline (longest in Asia) 🌟 many museums and more tourist attractions To book tickets, you need to use the Korean version of Korail system go to “관광열차“ for tourism trains! Hello everyone! I went to visit the cherry blossoms at Seokchon Lake this year. They bloomed early, a week earlier than the scheduled cherry blossom festival. I also checked out the festival after the cherry blossoms fell, and went to Lotte World and Lotte Tower Observatory with my friend Kiki. Hello everyone! Here is what I did in November! i did a lot of camping this month. We started out in a pension stay in Gapyeong and it was so pretty. It wasn't too cold yet. Then I met up with friends and we went to Eunpyeong Hanok Village and went glaming the weekend after. I also went to Jeju Island and visited Udo Island. It was my birthday, but it wasn't that eventful. Living in Seoul: December Vlog, Christmas in Seoul

Here’s a look into my December 2022! There were so many Christmas things in Seoul to see but I didn’t even get to see all of them! Wish I had more time. I also met up with lots of friends this month. It’s nice being more social these days since COVID. Annie, my cousin, also came to visit me!!!!! I was so excited! Only my mom visited just two months prior and she doesn’t like to do a lot of things so I was so happy to show Annie. ATEEZ Mingi Stole My Heart!! FRONT ROW at Seoul Festa 2023 Opening Ceremony LIVE K-Pop Concert

Hi everyone! I was invited to attend the Seoul Festa 2023 Opening Ceremony K-pop concert! There were so many beautiful artists that performed: Kep1er P1Harmony Nature BE'O StayC Young Ji iKON The Boyz Oh My Girl IVE ATEEZ I caught so many waves!! and I fell in love with ATEEZ's Mingi.... hehe I had a blast being front row, center section. I've never been so close to the stage before! I didn't know what to do with myself! The artists could see and probably hear my every reaction LOL Seoul Festa 2023 consists of different festivals aroud Seoul! Welcome to my page! I am an Asian American expat living in South Korea since 2018. I have enjoyed my first few years reading other blogs and coming across travel places on Instagram. I have also learned so much from the Facebook communities from many other expats. Gathering together my own experiences combined with the knowledge I have acculumated, I want to share it to others with more in-depth information than Instagram. Only since COVID-19 hit, I took the time to explore all around in South Korea for it's beauty and experiences.
